Sports Boost is a grassroots initiative from Colonial First State that aims to support junior elite Australian athletes aged 10-18 as they strive to fulfil their sporting potential. Over the last six years, we’ve given away over $180k in Sports Boost prizes.

Sports Boost showcases the talents of elite Australian junior athletes and teams throughout the year.This year we’ve increased the prize pool and divided the competition into two streams, Sports Boost for individual athletes, and Team Boost for teams of two or more athletes. Both competitions culminate in a final round of public voting to determine the overall $20,000 Sports Boost and Team Boost winners and their 2 respective runners-up who will all receive a prize of $2,000.

  • Participation in this promotion is open to Australian residents between the ages of 10-18 competing in a sport recognised by a registered sports organisation.

  • To nominate an individual or team, a participant must complete the following steps:

    • Go to the Colonial First State Sports Boost entry form at and nominate your elite athlete or team that deserves a $20,000 Sports Boost or Team Boost 
    •  Specify the sport that the junior athlete or team competes in
    • Outline why the junior athlete or team is deserving of a $20,000 Sports Boost and what they’re striving to achieve
    • Outline what the junior athlete or team will do with the $20,000 Sports Boost in the event the nominee is selected as the winner in 150 words or less
    • Upload a photograph of the athlete or team
    • Upload a video no more than 2 minutes in length showcasing the nominee participating in their sport (shot horizontally)
  • Each participant can only nominate a particular nominee (individual or team) once and each nomination must be submitted separately and in accordance with nomination requirements. However, you are able to nominate more than one individual or team.

  • The nomination period will commence on 08/07/2019 and end at 11:59pm AEST on 04/08/2019.

  • Colonial First State and their expert panel will judge all entries based on the quality, skill and achievements of the athletes and the creativity of their entries.

  • Colonial First State and their expert judging panel will shortlist 3 athletes and 3 teams who will move through to a final public voting round for their chance to win the $20,000 grand prize – $15,000 in prize money and $5,000 coaching.

    The public voting round will take place in 09/09/2019 to 07/10/2019 so stay tuned to our Facebook page for the announcement. The 4 runners-up will all receive a prize of $2,000 to help them along their road to greatness.
