Sports Boost is a grassroots sponsorship initiative from Colonial First State that aims to support junior elite Australian athletes aged 10-18 as they strive to fulfil their sporting potential. Over the last four years Colonial First State has given away over $135k in Sports Boosts.
The Colonial First State Sports Boost initiative showcases the talents of elite Australian junior athletes and teams throughout the year, and culminates in a final round of public voting, around June-July, to determine the overall $20,000 Sports Boost winner.
How has Sports Boost changed this year?
Previously, Sports Boost was open to selected athletes via their National Sporting Organisations. This year, Sports Boost has evolved and it’s now open to all junior elite athletes and teams (aged 10-18 years).
Are there any age restrictions?
Participation in this promotion is open to Australian residents between the ages of 10-18.
How do I enter?
To nominate an individual or team, a participant must complete the following steps:
Can I enter more than once?
Each participant can only nominate a particular nominee (individual or team) once and each nomination must be submitted separately and in accordance with nomination requirements.
What is the last date of nomination?
The nomination period will commence on 01/11/2016 and end at 11:59pm AEDST on 28/02/2017.
How will the shortlist, finalists and overall Sports Boost winner be decided?
Colonial First State and their expert panel will judge all entries based on the quality, creativity, skills and achievements of the athletes and their entries, why the nominee deserves a $20,000 Sports Boost how the $20,000 Sports Boost is intended to be utilised by the nominated athlete or team.
How is the program structured / what are the prizes?
Colonial First State and their expert judging panel will shortlist 20 athletes, 10 of which will receive a special mention and a $200 Sports Boost each, 10 of which will move through to the next round.From the final 10 remaining athletes, 5 will move through to a final public voting round for their chance to win the $20,000 Sports Boost grand prize – $15,000 in prize money and $5,000 coaching. The public voting round will take place on in June-July 2017 so stay tuned to our Facebook page for the announcement. The 4 runners-up will all receive a Sports Boost of $2,000 to help them along their road to greatness.
